The Steel Paintings to the right were done after all of the above were
finished. During their fabrication I imagined myself diving into the
spaces between the fruit. A section of fruit from "Floating
Still Life" is blown up in "Be Fruitful & Multiply.
"Fecund & Beaming" comes from "Odalisque with Still
Life."
Notice that the
fruit in "Fecund & Beaming look like the Goddess of Willendorf--the ancient
symbol of fertility.
